The Mayi Kuwayu survey questions have been developed and tested through a series of focus groups held around the country. Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and local community organisations have hosted 21 focus groups which have been held in communities across Australia. Some organisations have hosted focus groups on multiple occasions due to strong community interest.
Our research team asked members of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia to talk about what culture and wellbeing is for them. People tested the survey questions and gave feedback which has helped to shape the final questions which will be used in the national survey.
