Apply for Data
The Mayi Kuwayu Study team want to ensure that the Mayi Kuwayu data can make as many positive changes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing as possible. As such, we want to support other organisations in conducting their own Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing studies.
To do this, you are asked to read the Applicant Guidelines and review Wave 1 Mayi Kuwayu Study data dictionary before filling out the Apply for Data form. This form is guided by the Maiam nayri Wingara Indigenous Data Sovereignty Principles. The Mayi Kuwayu Data Governance Committee (MKDGC) will review your application. If you are successful, the Mayi Kuwayu team will run your study’s analysis and provide you with the results. This process ensures our data is safe, confidential, accessible, and your study is protective of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander data.

Submission dates
The Mayi Kuwayu Data Governance Committee (MKDGC) will meet on the below dates in 2026. To apply for data access, you must have your application in by the corresponding date.
MKDGC meeting Tuesday 24 March 2026 – Applications must be submitted to mkdgc@anu.edu.au by CoB Monday 2 Marcg 2026;
MKDGC meeting Tuesday 21 July 2026 – Applications to be submitted to mkdgc@anu.edu.au CoB Monday 29 June 2026;
MKDGC meeting Tuesday 2 October 2026 – Applications must be submitted to mkdgc@anu.edu.au CoB Monday 28 September 2026.
